Swim Lesson Scholarship Program
At the Childhood Drowning Prevention Foundation, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn how to swim. We are committed to saving lives and preventing childhood drownings through our Swim Lesson Scholarship Program. In our communities, we strive to make water safety education accessible to all, regardless of economic circumstances.
What Are They For?
Our Swim Lesson Scholarship Program was created to help children who are less fortunate get the opportunity to receive life-saving swim lessons so they can learn to become safe in and around the water.
We offer partial and full scholarships.
Scholarships can only be used with the CDPF’s Swim Lessons Program – Big Kahuna Swim Academy.
How Often Are They Given?
We award scholarships as often as we can.
Our scholarships are funded by donations and grants, thus we can only award as many scholarships as our funds allow.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must be families that are on WIC or getting assistance from the county (CalFresh or CalWorks).
When Do We Start if Accepted?
When you start is based on the grants and donations that we have received.
We set aside all donations and grants for the Program to fulfill our scholarships.
How We Pick Recipients?
Our goal is to help as many families as possible.
If we have a high influx of applications, scholarships will be given in the order in which we received their FULL application.
